Darkness Rises

Everything is getting dimmer.
As I stand here on my own.
With no one by my side.
I feel so alone.
The people around me burn
As the light starts to fall.
Soon will it be my turn
Because I can't move at all.
The darkness rises around me.
I try to run, but I can't see
The hope that's supposed to be there.
Why do I even dare?
I cannot run from the shadows
So, I'll let it be.
I'm powerless
In this darkness.
